New participant application
If you have never attended an MBL camp before, this page is for you.
However, if you have not done it yet, we recommend starting with reading new process overview page first.
The 2026 Application Timeline
Changes coming in 2026 + FAQ
Admissions timeline
Admissions are run separately for each camp.
Decisions for camp X will be released before applications deadline for camp X + 1.
If you are not accepted to one camp, you may apply to a later camp in the same MBL year
(as long as you have not already participated in another MBL camp that year).
How many camps can I attend?
From 2026 onwards, we expect that most participants will attend at most one MBL camp per MBL year.
In special circumstances, it may be possible to attend two camps in one MBL year,
but this will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
An MBL year runs from October 1st to September 30th.
For example:
You can attend MBL Poland 2026 and MBL Balkans 2027.
If you attend MBL Balkans 2027 you can try applying to MBL UK 2027 or MBL Poland 2027,
but you’re not very likely to be accepted.
Applying to multiple camps (and reusing materials)
Each camp has a separate application, but to reduce duplicate work:
- The exploratory problems in the Qualifying Quiz are the same for all camps within one MBL year.
- The Applicant Questionnaire is also the same for all camps in that year.
- If you apply to multiple camps, you can reuse and improve these parts of your application.
Only the olympic problems in the Qualifying Quiz will differ between camps.
This means that applying to more than one camp in the same year does not require starting from scratch,
and is intentionally designed to be significantly less work for applicants.
